THE LABOR OF LOVE

Saturn Sky | Photoshop

This is one of my favorite pieces. This was based off a magazine image of a Saturn Sky, a car I always wanted. The original image was blue, but I was in love with magenta at the time, so I adjusted the color and painted this from scratch. And I gotta say, I even impressed myself.

This piece was done entirely in Photoshop using the pen tool and paint brush and some slight color ranging on the inner wheel area.

WE HEART NORA
( & HARRY POTTER )

Hedwig’s Theme | Illustrator and InDesign

This piece was done for a good friend of mine. Ya see, we both love Harry Potter. It’s our thing. We have spent many a night sipping wine, eating takeout and watching these movies over and over and over again. So when she became pregnant (with baby Nora), I knew there was only one thing to do-use one of our favorite quotes from the movie and turn it into something she could put in Nora’s room. I even tested the notes on my fancy 90’s synthesizer keyboard to make sure they were legit.

Colors were picked to match the Nora’s room. All musical notation was created in Illustrator. Typography and layout was done in InDesign.

LOVES FURNITURE WEBSITE

Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, Sketch

The creation, implementation and operation of this site was a collaborative effort working with one of the best teams I could have ever had the opportunity to work with. The vision behind the site and the company is a love where you shop/love where you live attitude and a less aggressive sales strategy than your standard Gardner White chase the customer around the store until you scare them into buying something approach. Calm colors, streamlined layout and easy to navigate was the thought process behind the design.

The site itself was built and launched in 90 days and at every turn has exceeded SEO, CRO and e-Commerce revenue goals.

You can see the full site at www.lovesfurniture.com

THE MEDICAL SYMPOSIUM

GIII 10th Annual Symposium Event Assets | Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

This set of graphics was created for a corporate medical symposium that I had the privilege to work on. They were in need of a cohesive branding strategy that would draw more attention to the event, boost ticket sales, and engage and direct attendees once they had arrived. I worked closely with an amazing event planner (shout out to Susie Ivezaj) to nail down every last detail to boost ticket sales by 200% and create a streamlined physician experience all while staying within budget.

Colors were based on the light blue from the company website, but the event was in New Orleans and I thought that needed more expressive colors. So i darkened it up a bit and added a bright orange from the other side of the color wheel to liven it up. The message: Work hard, play hard. We’re doctors and we’re serious, but we can still have fun.

All graphics were done using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Other content was created using online resources including MailChimp and WordPress. I created all the written content as well.

SAVE THE KITTIES
(MICHIGAN CAT RESCUE)

Michigan Cat Rescue | Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

So first things first – I ♥ Animals! Like A LOT! I wanted to volunteer at local shelters, but it turns out that I can’t do that without bringing a furry friend home with me. The next idea was to foster. I figured it’s not so sad when they are in your house, right? Right! They are happy and adorable, and fall asleep in your lap, and you give them names and. you can see where this one’s going. Consequently, Ive been “banned” from any further fostering activity.

So, how do you help the fuzzies when you’re a big fat foster/shelter helper failure? You create the artwork that gets people to the adoption events! And that’s exactly what I do. This helps the animals, and also saves me from becoming that weird girl who lives with 17 cats, 12 dogs, five rabbits, two horses, and a billy goat.

All graphics were done using InDesign and Photoshop. I created all the written content as well.

THE START-UP

Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

This little number was created for start-up company that needed a solid piece to include in their presentation folders, and some help finding their message. Their original thought was to do a multi-page, landscape style booklet packed with all the details of their service, but I talked them into a letter-sized bi-fold instead.

Why? Four reasons.

  1. It cut the print cost in half by using a standard size.
  2. If need be, it could be easily printed out on the fly by a sales representative or a potential customer.
  3. Its space confinement helped us to condense all that info into a more concise, easier to understand message.
  4. Because it fit perfectly (and right-side-up, if I might add) into their existing presentation folder.

The world graphic on the cover was used to stay consistent with their pre-existing business cards.

All graphics were done using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. I created all written content as well.

PARTY ESSENTIALS

Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

A little side hobby of mine – decorating. I love to decorate! In fact, in my spare time, you can usually find me moving candle holders, vases and lanterns (I love lanterns) from room to room. And because of this, whenever a friend is having a party, particularly for their little ones, I get the “Can you help me?” phone call. And the answer is always the same – YES I CAN!

Here is a small sampling of little things I’ve worked from a few parties. Everything you see here was created in InDesign and Illustrator.

LITTLE RANDOMS

Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

What do you do when you need some artwork for your empty walls? Go to Target! But sometimes you have something in mind that you just can’t find at Target, or in your price range for that matter. So I made it myself!

Now I’m not big into anything that is too busy. I think designers that create that kind of stuff are super talented. They know how to rock out some Photoshop filters like nobodies business. But personally, I like to keep it simple, so everything here is clean and blends in nicely with any other home decor.

All graphics were done using Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.

WEDDING SEASON

Illustrator & InDesign

I love working on wedding projects. Mainly because its very personal to the client. Its about understanding and capturing their unique style and creating something that reflects them on one of the most meaningful days of their lives. It’s really cool to be a part of something like that.

Everything you see here was created in InDesign and Illustrator.
